Get PrEP supportComprehensive HIV care since 2013
Shalom began direct HIV/AIDS services in December 2013 and is one of the few community health centers in Indianapolis that receives funding from the Marion County Ryan White Program. We provide routine testing to everyone, with targeted outreach for Ryan White clients under the Minority AIDS Initiative.
Over the past three years we’ve screened more than 5,000 clients (about 1,710 a year, over 1,300 of them Ryan White–eligible), and each year we provide roughly 1,295 clients with mental-health services and 312 with substance-use services.
A skilled, culturally responsive team
Our HIV/AIDS services are led by Chief Clinical Officer Lyndsey Furry, a key clinician in our three-year project with the Midwest AIDS Training and Education Center (MATEC) and a participant in Indiana’s first PrEP Summit. The department includes a program manager, a PrEP navigator, and HIV outreach and education specialists focused on prevention and the continuum of care. Our compliance team monitors the program to National Monitoring Standards.
Many of our staff are bilingual, and translation services are available for every patient. Annual training in sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI), HIV 101, and cultural competency helps us serve minority, LGBTQ+, disabled, and elderly communities with respect.
Programs & outreach
We partner across Indianapolis to reduce stigma and expand access to prevention and care.

Latinos Unidos contra el VIH
We help organize National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day in Indianapolis, raising awareness and connecting the community to resources.
For The Culture
A culturally sensitive HIV-prevention program, supported by the Marion County Public Health Department, serving the Black community on the west side — education, outreach, and primary care.
Community Health Improvement Initiative
Since 2019 we’ve partnered with the Indiana Department of Health to reduce HIV-related disparities for African American MSM and, since 2021, youth.
